The Client Requirements

The homeowner wanted a premium audiovisual installation that would deliver an engaging cinema experience while providing music throughout selected indoor and outdoor areas. The controls also needed to be straightforward, reducing the need to use multiple remotes and separate interfaces.

The main objectives were to:

• Create a dedicated home cinema with projection and immersive 7.1 surround sound.
• Distribute audio across five entertainment, fitness, wellness, and outdoor zones.
• Allow different audio sources to be played in separate zones where supported by the system configuration.
• Provide a centralized control interface for compatible entertainment equipment.
• Make common activities easier through custom one-touch scenes.

The Solution: Integrated Home Cinema and Multi-Room Audio

AME Electrical Smart Homes designed an audiovisual system tailored to the home’s layout and lifestyle. The solution combines a dedicated cinema room, five-zone audio distribution, and Nice/ELAN smart control into one coordinated entertainment environment.

1. Dedicated 7.1 Home Cinema with Sony Projection

The dedicated cinema room was designed to provide an immersive viewing and listening experience for films, live sports, and gaming.

• Sony Projection System: A Sony projector delivers large-screen viewing for home entertainment. The exact resolution depends on the installed projector model.
• 7.1 Surround Sound: A multi-channel speaker arrangement creates an enveloping sound experience for compatible content.
• Integrated AV Control: The cinema equipment is incorporated into the Nice/ELAN control environment for convenient operation.
• One-Touch Cinema Scene: A configured “Movie Night” scene can coordinate supported cinema functions, such as powering on the projector and selecting the appropriate source.

2. Five-Zone Indoor and Outdoor Audio

AME Electrical installed audio across five designated zones, giving the homeowner flexibility to enjoy music in different areas of the property.

Zone 1: Home Bar

Audio coverage for entertaining guests and enjoying music during social gatherings.

Zone 2: Home Gym

A dedicated listening zone for music and other audio during exercise and fitness routines.

Zone 3: Sauna and Relaxation Area

Discreet audio designed to support a relaxing atmosphere during wellness sessions, with equipment selected and positioned appropriately for the environment.

Zone 4: Outdoor Hot Tub

Outdoor audio provides entertainment around the hot tub. Equipment intended for this area should be suitable for the relevant moisture and weather exposure.

Zone 5: Car Port

An additional audio zone provides music coverage around the car port for outdoor tasks and other activities.

Flexible Zone Management: The configured system allows supported zones to be controlled independently or grouped together, depending on the audio equipment and source routing.

3. Centralized Nice/ELAN Smart Home Control

The Nice/ELAN platform provides a common interface for managing compatible cinema and multi-room audio functions. Rather than relying on separate controls for every device, the homeowner can access supported functions through the configured smart home interface.

• Unified Control: Access compatible audio and cinema functions from the configured app or control devices.
• Convenient Audio Management: Adjust available zone settings and manage supported sources.
• Integrated Entertainment: Bring compatible audiovisual equipment together within one control environment.
• Custom Scenes: Simplify common activities through programmed commands and coordinated actions.

Custom Smart Automation Scenes

Custom Nice/ELAN scenes can simplify everyday entertainment by combining compatible actions into a single command.

• Movie Night: Coordinates configured cinema functions, such as switching on the projector and selecting the appropriate AV source.
• Party Mode: Groups selected audio zones to distribute music across designated areas, such as the home bar, gym, and outdoor hot tub.
• Relaxation Mode: Routes selected audio to the sauna and hot tub zones, where supported by the system configuration.
